The Homesteader Blog Hop #45

Welcome to The Homesteader Hop! Each week we have plenty of posts to keep your attention starting every Wednesday at 1 AM EST.

We've added something new to the Hop!
If you are featured, your post will be added to our group board, The Homesteader Hop Group Board, and you will be invited to pin with us! Make sure to follow the board (sometimes it's hard finding you to invite)!

This week we are fighting snow storms, we had a month of wonderful spring-like weather that got our orchard blooming then it dipped down in the 30's a dusted everything in snow. So were snuggeling into the Cottage with a big cup of something hot until spring comes again!

I'm Anna - foodie, research-addict, and mini-homesteader. I'm married to a man who can learn to do anything from a book (sailing! changing shocks & struts! making perfect cheesecake!). And I'm also Mama to one delightful little lady, who keeps me on my toes!

Seeking Joyful Simplicity

(Facebook|Pinterest|Twitter) This is the story of our family as we downsize our lives and increase our self-sufficiency. We left a city home and city salary behind to create a homestead on 2.5 acres in the mountains!

Misty Meadows Homestead & More

Let There Be Light!

I almost titled this, “You Grow Girl!”, because sometimes I surprise even myself. This is my first time attempting to start all the seedlings we will need for our garden; in the past, we have bought seedlings through local FFA (Future Farmers of America) fundraisers or at our local farm store. We’ve never had enough space to start seeds and to be honest, it really does require some forethought, organization and time management skills, which have been rather lacking since I had to stop working a few years ago. One Ocean Sea World Show

Last year we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Sea World, for the first time in many years. As always it wasn't a letdown!

While there we decided to watch the One Ocean show, dad wanted to sit in the splash zone- we out voted him. Somehow gallons of water in the middle of January and cameras don't seem to go well together.

This show was fun, upbeat and if you happen to sit in the splash zone- wet! These creatures are amazing up close!

It made me wish we had more time to spend here.

They are such amazing creatures.  So huge and powerful - so beautiful.

Every time I see them and makes me love the creatures of the ocean more and more.

Time for a snack. I could use one too, just not raw fish!

Dolphin Show At Sea World

Sea World has to be one of my favorite places! I love how magical it is, like being a kid... anything could happen. I've been here twice in my life, once for my second birthday and the second time for an early birthday present for my 18th birthday. I have to say, it's a great birthday present.

This show was amazing! I absolutely love dolphins so this was spectacular!

This show is so fun, and probably my favorite of all the ones Sea World offers.

I always liked dolphins but I really fell in love with them after Sea World. They taught me a lot about marine life and made me passionate about them.

They are creative and smart and love to have fun.

I could not believe their agility and their relationship with one another.

It made me want to study more about them, which is a good thing!

SeaWorld | California Trip Day 5

Darling it's better, down where it's wetter, under the sea. Admit it. You heard Sebastian from little mermaid's voice in your head didn't you?

Today we are heading to SeaWorld!

The last time we were here was for my second birthday.

There aren't a lot of people here because it rained this morning. I feel a lot better this morning.

But I can't smell anything. Grrrrrr! This darn cold morphs into something else everyday! We are just a skip from the beach, Mrs. Cottage and Brianna keep saying it smells wonderful. I can't smell anything so I don't know, but I can taste it! That's better than nothing I guess.

By the way, those cleaner fish in the picture up above were awesome! Seriously I want some!

There are so many amazing creatures here! Some I wouldn't want to meet in the wild, though. Some of the fish were absolutely stunning!

This pretty bird just was hanging out watching us as we said hello to the sea lions.  He didn't mind getting close en…
